This variation of air fryer salmon features a tangy-sweet honey mustard glaze. The glaze goes on *before* air frying, so the mustard protects the honey from burning. You'll find the full recipe, including glaze ingredients and air frying directions, on this page.
01Pat fillets dry. Season with salt and pepper. Place skin-side down.
02Mix the mustard, honey, soy sauce, and garlic powder.
03Spread the glaze on top of each fillet in a thick, even layer.
04Ready for the air fryer, skin-side down the entire time.
The glaze goes on before cooking for salmon, unlike most other proteins, because salmon cooks at a lower temperature where honey doesn't burn as readily. The mustard acts as a barrier that insulates the top of the fillet and the honey caramelizes into a sticky, golden crust. Whole grain mustard gives you visible seeds and a more textured finish than Dijon.
Stores 2 days refrigerated. Reheats decently at 275°F (135°C) for 5-6 minutes. Low temp is key; high heat turns leftover salmon chalky. Also great cold in salads.
