Brussels sprouts transform in the air fryer, developing deeply browned, caramelized surfaces. The trick is to cut them in half and place them flat-side down in the basket. Find the full recipe here, plus tips for seasoning.

Steps
01Trim the woody stem end off each sprout. Cut in half through the stem so each half has a large flat surface.
02Remove any loose, yellowed outer leaves.
03Spray with oil and season.
04Ready for the air fryer, flat-side down for maximum caramelization.
Flat-side down is the whole technique. The flat cut surface pressed against the hot basket is where the deep, golden-brown caramelization happens. Round-side down gives you steamed Brussels sprouts with no char. Every half should go in the basket flat-side down.
