Want soft-boiled eggs with jammy yolks? Shave a few minutes off the standard hard-boiled air fryer method and you'll get that perfect custardy center. The timing is key, and the ice bath is non-negotiable. Find the complete instructions and timing here.

Steps
01Place cold eggs directly in the air fryer basket.
02Cook for 9 to 10 minutes at the same temperature as hard boiled (check food page). 9 minutes for a very runny yolk with just the edges set. 10 minutes for a jammy, fudgy yolk that holds its shape.
03Transfer immediately to the ice bath for 5 minutes.
04Peel carefully under running water. Soft-boiled eggs are more fragile than hard-boiled.
The difference between a hard-boiled egg (12 minutes) and a jammy egg (9 to 10 minutes) is just 2 to 3 minutes. The ice bath is even more critical here because the yolk is still liquid in the center and residual heat will continue cooking it. Get them in the ice water fast. Jammy eggs are the ramen egg, the grain bowl egg, the avocado toast egg. They're worth the precision.
