Air fryer mini bread bowls are fast and easy, ready in about 10 minutes. Look for sturdy rolls with a firm crust that won't collapse when filled. Below, you'll find the simple instructions and timing to crisp them up.

  • 4 small round bread rolls (about 4 inches across, a sturdy crust is best)
  • Olive oil spray

  1. 01Cut a circle in the top of each roll, about 1/2 inch from the edge. Don't cut all the way through.
  2. 02Pull out the bread from the center, leaving about 1/2 inch of bread on the sides and bottom. You want a hollow bowl, not a paper-thin shell.
  3. 03Save the bread you pulled out. It makes croutons or breadcrumbs.
  4. 04Spray the inside of each bowl lightly with oil.
  5. 05Ready for the air fryer. The oil and heat crisp the inside so it doesn't get soggy when you add soup or dip.
The crust matters more than the size. A soft dinner roll collapses when you fill it with hot soup. Look for rolls with a firm crust, like small boules or ciabatta rounds. If you can only find soft rolls, give them an extra 2 minutes in the air fryer to firm up before filling.
