Stuffed squid tubes are a Mediterranean classic that's easy to make in the air fryer. The trick is to leave room for the squid to expand during cooking. Find ingredients, steps, and timing on the recipe page.

  1. 01Make sure the squid tubes are fully cleaned. Pull out the clear quill (the plastic-feeling strip inside) if it's still there. Rinse the inside and pat dry.
  2. 02Mix all the filling ingredients in a bowl.
  3. 03Stuff each tube about 2/3 full. Don't overfill. Squid shrinks during cooking and overstuffed tubes split open.
  4. 04Secure the open end of each tube with a toothpick.
  5. 05Brush the outside of each tube lightly with olive oil.
  6. 06Ready for the air fryer.
  7. 07Remove toothpicks before serving. Slice into 1-inch rounds for a beautiful presentation.
The 2/3 rule is critical. Squid contracts significantly when it hits heat. A tube stuffed to the brim will burst in the first few minutes. Leave room and the tube shrinks around the filling, creating a tight, clean cylinder that slices beautifully.
