Turn leftover pasta into crunchy chips in the air fryer. Boiling the pasta first is essential to get the texture right. See this page for the full ingredient list, step-by-step instructions, and timing.
Ingredients
8 oz short pasta (bowtie, rigatoni, or penne, shapes with ridges and folds work best)

Steps
01Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente per the package directions. Slightly undercook rather than overcook.
02Drain thoroughly. Spread on a towel and pat dry. Wet pasta steams instead of crisping.
03Toss with olive oil, parmesan, and seasonings.
04Ready for the air fryer. Shake the basket frequently.
This is a two-step process: boil first, then air fry. You cannot air fry raw dry pasta. The boiling cooks the pasta. The air frying turns it into a crunchy chip. Al dente is important because overcooked pasta turns to mush in the air fryer instead of crisping.
