Very ripe bananas make the best banana bread and the air fryer bakes these evenly. You'll find the complete recipe on this page, including ingredients, step-by-step directions, and air frying times.

  • 2 very ripe bananas (brown spots are good, fully brown is great)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped walnuts

  1. 01Mash the bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth. A few small chunks are fine.
  2. 02Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. 03Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix. Overmixed banana bread is tough.
  4. 04Fold in chocolate chips or walnuts if using.
  5. 05Divide among 4 greased mini loaf pans or ramekins, filling about 2/3 full.
  6. 06Ready for the air fryer.
The riper the banana, the better the bread. Green-tipped bananas don't have enough sugar or moisture. If your bananas aren't ripe enough, microwave them (unpeeled) for 30 seconds to soften them, but they still won't be as sweet as a naturally ripened one.
