Steps
01Thaw the crab legs completely if frozen. Run them under cold water or thaw in the fridge overnight. Do not microwave.
02Bend or cut the legs at the joints to fit your air fryer basket. Use kitchen shears to snip through the shell at joints.
03Brush the shells lightly with melted butter.
04Ready for the air fryer. Crab legs are already fully cooked, so you're just reheating and lightly charring the shell.
05Serve with melted butter and lemon wedges. Crack with shears or a nutcracker.
King crab legs are pre-cooked before they're sold. Every crab leg at the grocery store has already been boiled and flash-frozen on the boat. You're reheating, not cooking from raw. This means the air fryer time is short and the goal is just to warm them through and get a light char on the shell. Overcooking makes the meat rubbery and dry. When in doubt, pull them early.
