Frozen puff pastry makes these strawberry turnovers quick and easy to assemble. Be sure to crimp the edges and vent the tops to prevent leaks and explosions! Get the full recipe and air frying instructions here.

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam (or 1 cup fresh strawberries mixed with 2 tablespoons sugar and mashed lightly)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)

  1. 01Cut the puff pastry into 4 equal squares.
  2. 02Place about 2 tablespoons of jam or strawberry mixture on one half of each square, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  3. 03Fold diagonally to create a triangle. Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
  4. 04Brush the tops with egg wash. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if using.
  5. 05Poke 2 to 3 small slits in the top of each turnover to let steam escape.
  6. 06Ready for the air fryer.
The fork crimp and the steam vents are both functional, not decorative. The fork crimp prevents the filling from leaking out the sides. The steam vents prevent the turnover from puffing into a balloon and then collapsing into a soggy mess. Skip either one and you'll have a bad time.
